Level Three is designed for adult English language learners who need to improve their ability to communicate orally and in writing in everyday, social, and professional situations in the learner’s own field. Therefore, you will improve your fluency in speaking and increase your listening comprehension of conversational interactions and extended discourse in a wide range of formal and informal situations, develop strategies to read and understand a wide range of texts, and to write formal and informal emails and letters, news articles, reports and cohesive and structured essays. You will extend your vocabulary and grammar knowledge throughout the course to help you reach an Advanced proficiency in the English Language.

Every Thursday afternoon during term times, Kit Perry will host a free extra language lesson for all students in all levels to attend. This extra lesson is not compulsory, but if you want a bit more practice in a non-formal environment that’s fun and engaging, please join in when you can.

My Teacher
Justin Cusack

My name is Justin Cusack (pronounced Qzak) and I am your teacher for the Level 3 Upper-Intermediate Pathway Course. I am in my 30’s but I’m often told I look younger. I like to think, it was because I was wise enough to stop counting. Over the years I have travelled extensively through Europe and Asia. I’ve lived and worked in multiple countries so I understand the challenges of overcoming language and cultural barriers.
I have a few hobbies including travelling, writing, online games, entrepreneurial endeavours (starting a business), and following the latest technological advances.
For me, teaching is more than just another subject, it’s about changing lives. I enjoy showing people how to become the best person they can be. My goal is to help each of you become more comfortable using English, so you feel confident to undertake the journey to come and study at JCU.
My goal is to help you improve your general English language ability and reach your target of passing the course to gain entry to James Cook University. If you have any questions or need any extra help, you can email me (outback@tiesnq.com.au) or send me a message on WeChat.
